Scorpion-shaped mobile weapon

The Scorpion Boss (サソリ (がた) () (どう) (へい) () Sasori-gata kidou heiki?)[note 1][note 2] is a colossal boss robot that appears in Stage 3 of Razing Storm. It surprised the S.C.A.R. Alpha team operatives after they cleared enemies and delivered the coordinates of Paulo Guerra's base of operations.

Overview[]

The Scorpion Boss has four legs which allows fast movement or used for slashing attacks, two claws to grasp objects and fling them, or used as a grasp attack; laser irradiator "segments" on each of its left and right "tails", a machine gun on its front, an even more powerful main laser cannon located on the center "tail", the ability to produce "bubbles" (they continuously expand until they explode similarly to the mite Terror Bites) on its back, and missile launchers which are used as its final attack.

Weakpoint[]

When initially encountered and shot by the player machine gun, the Scorpion Boss' weakpoint is its mouth, and shooting at that area can not only cause some damage (although without a lifebar) but also increase their score. After the player switches to the rocket launcher, its weakpoints are its laser cannons. However, its mobility is not reduced even after taking plenty of damage such as destroying the frontal armor and laser cannons. Even after receiving damage from the satellite laser cannon, it recharges for the last time, firing plenty of missiles that the player must destroy before the link bridge they are on is destroyed by the missiles.

Trivia[]

  • The Scorpion Boss resembles NANCY-MI847J from Tekken 6.
  • The Scorpion Boss' final missile barrage is similar to the one used by Crab (Hard Mission boss) from Virtua Cop 3. In addition, failing the emergency mission which is similar to failing the E.S. attack of destroying all the missiles within the time limit prevents access to the Extra Mission. The differences are that in Virtua Cop 3, the player also has to succeed in defeating the final bosses in Simple and Normal Missions and complete Hard Mission last.
