Plot[]
The game starts with mission controller Lisa Marshall briefing agents Nate Rush and Hackley on an emergency involving an unknown organisation having stolen 3 control panels required to trigger a highly confidential and powerful prototype weapon called A.R.C.. Hence, the two agents are sent to retrieve the control panels.
While on the way to the location, the helicopter is shot down by anti-aircraft weapons, forcing the agents to land at a train yard where intelligence reports indicate that the panels are located there. Despite the agents' efforts in defeating the enemies, the enemies have loaded the panels onto a train and have left the yard. Chasing the enemies to the harbor, the two agents split up to find the train containing the panels due to the enemies jamming the tracking signal. Eventually, Nate defeats the enemies and finds the train but the panels are gone. At the same time, Hackley is injured and is unable to carry on the mission. While Nate continues to find the control panels alone, Lisa informs him that the panels are being loaded onto a submarine and warns that there is not much time before the enemies escape. Heading to the submarine, Nate encounters Marcus who challenges him into a fight. Despite Marcus' usage of two machine guns, able to throw heavy objects and protected by an exoskeleton armor; Nate defeats him. Unfortunately, the fight allowed the submarine to leave the harbor and cause all traces to be lost when it submerged.
After going back to base for a debriefing, the two agents are sent to Africa based on the coordinates of the enemies' last known location and are required to make their way south to the village on the river. After defeating the enemies inside the village, Hackley noted that the control panels are relocated to a base east of the village. While heading to the base, Nate enquires about the A.R.C. weapon which Lisa replies that A.R.C. stands for Autonomous Radiation Cannon, and that it is an experimental satellite which can harness solar radiation and transmit a focused beam to any location on Earth. The reason why the agents are sent is to prevent the enemy from using the A.R.C. to melt ice caps and raze entire cities. In addition, only the panels can control the A.R.C. and there is no other way to disable the system. After defeating enemies on jeeps and on jetpacks, Lisa reveals to the two agents that the enemies are not regular terrorists but are working for a secret conglomerate of global organisations. However, their identity and purpose are unclear due to no evidence of their past activity.
After defeating more enemies on jetpacks, the two agents arrived at the base but with it being protected by a force field and guarded by sentry turrets, Lisa informs them to destroy 3 power generators to disable the defense system. Nate goes to destroy the generators while Hackley finds another way into the base. After the generators are destroyed, the two agents make their way into the base where after defeating more enemies, Hackley secured two of the control panels found in one of the containers. However, the third control panel has been moved to a base in the South Pole.
Arriving at the South Pole, Lisa informs the two agents that they have to get into the main compound to enter the base. Once again, the two agents split up to find the routes. After defeating enemies, they enter the base which looks like a cloning lab. Moving on with more enemies defeated, they use a snowmobile to head into the enemy command center. Upon entering, they encountered Head who says that they will fear pain before fearing him. Soon after, he flees the area while more enemies attack. Hackley suggests Nate follow Head while he finds the A.R.C. controller. Eventually, Nate finds Head who challenges him to a fight. Despite Head's use of the handgun along with enemies, he is forced to retreat and subsequently chased down by Nate. Deciding that Nate's performance is impressive, Head offers Nate to join him so that they can blackmail any government for cash or resource. When Nate refused and surprised that Head knows his name, Head answers that the government will never admit to the existence of the A.R.C. which caused him to force the government to submit to his threats. Soon after, the fight continues with Head having the ability to produce multiple shadow clones to confuse Nate. Despite this, Nate persevered and forced Head to further retreat. Moving on, Nate finally encounters Head piloting a giant robot armed with missile launchers and Gatling cannons. After a fight, Nate defeats the robot which kills Head. Hackley soon arrives telling Nate that he has the last control panel. Just as Lisa instructs the two agents to go the extraction zone, Hackley reveals that he has no intention of giving back the control panels and also reveals that he is working for someone who is far more powerful than the organisation they have defeated. He then mockingly thanks Nate and Lisa for their support which allows his boss to use the A.R.C.. With Lisa and Nate shocked by Hackley's words, Hackley tells Nate it is all about money or power before fleeing. Nate vows to find Hackley.
Trivia[]
- Even as a mobile game, this is the first game in the Time Crisis series which one of the antagonists uses a huge mech, predating Paulo Guerra who only used it in Razing Storm Story Mode.
