The locations travelled by both Captain William Rush and the V.S.S.E. agents Giorgio Bruno and Evan Bernard are a National Park cave, a cavern and a Biological Weapon Research Facility which according to data recovered from a hard disk extracted from a satellite communications device located at Dam #18 in California, is the location where the Hamlin Battalion is trying to steal a large number of Terror Bites for an unknown purpose.
Story[]
After Lieutenant General Larry Garfield approved Rush to have the assistance of the two V.S.S.E. agents in dealing the Hamlin Battalion, Rush and the V.S.S.E. agents head to the research facility via helicopter to prevent the theft of a large number of Terror Bites. While on the way though, the helicopter is damaged by anti-aircraft weapons, forcing Rush to take control of it to evade two incoming missiles. Though the helicopter evaded the first missile, it is hit by the second one, causing the three men to bail out before the helicopter crashed.
With the only way to the research facility is by foot, Rush enquires the shortest route which First Lieutenant Elizabeth Conway replied that he and the V.S.S.E. agents could make it to the research facility in time if they go through a cave in front of them. Upon receiving the reply, they went into the cave, defeating enemies including one protected by High-Tech Reinforced Armor. Soon after, they reached the cave exit only to have a quicksand blowing in the V.S.S.E. agents. With Rush having to defeat two enemy soldiers and a Terror Bite operator, the V.S.S.E. agents have to pull up 30 meters while destroying beetle Terror Bites. Despite the odds, all the enemy soldiers are eventually defeated and Terror Bites destroyed. With the V.S.S.E. agents successfully pulled themselves up, they and Rush exited the cave and entered the cavern where they see the research facility from a distance.
Continuing their way to the research facility, the V.S.S.E. agents and Rush defeated more enemies who deployed jeeps, High-Tech Reinforced Armor soldiers and Terror Bites to impede their progress. Despite the enemy resistance along with Rush getting caught by a trap requiring the V.S.S.E. agents to avoid shooting him while defeating enemy soldiers and destroying mite Terror Bites, the two V.S.S.E. agents and Rush successfully made their way to the research facility. At the research facility, they arrived at the Terror Bites storage block where Jack Mathers is waiting. After an argument with Rush about patriotism, Jack attacks the V.S.S.E. agents and Rush with two M249 para machine guns clamped and fired together, Mk 2 hand grenades and mantis Terror Bites. During the fight, Rush is occasionally able to disarm Jack but Jack to able to defend himself in unarmed combat, and can withstand electrocution (only momentarily stunned him) and melee attacks such as a hit from a large wooden crate on his head. Ultimately, the V.S.S.E. agents are able to sufficiently weaken Jack for Rush to deliver an uppercut which caused Jack to hit the storage block ceiling.
With Jack's defeat, the V.S.S.E. agents and Rush opened the doors to the storage only to find all the Terror Bites already gone. While Jack did not tell them the purpose of the Terror Bites, Conway suddenly tells the men that the Hamlin Battalion attacked an Air Force Base in Colorado, prompting the men to rush to the base.
